Our support workers deliver quality, person-centred support to clients who live with a disability in the community, with a key focus on improving daily life by assisting with daily activities, shopping and community access.

How do I become a support worker?
Whether you have disability or aged care-related experience or are seeking a career change, support work can be a flexible and rewarding role. We provide paid, on-the-job training to help you reskill. You will need to be an Australian citizen or have a valid Working Visa, and be willing to undertake screening.
If you are someone with a strong sense of empathy, excellent communication skills, adaptability and patience and you’d like to start the process, here’s what you can expect.
Step 1: physical wellbeing
Support workers enable their clients in all aspects of daily living, and this can include physical tasks.
Being physically fit and capable is the foundation for a fulfilling career as a support worker – and you will maintain your fitness in your role.
Step 2: skills assessment
As part of the application process, you’ll be invited to complete a numeracy and literacy assessment. This step ensures that you possess the foundational skills necessary to handle the responsibilities that come with being a support worker.
Step 3: apply online
If you are eager to contribute to the well-being of our clients, take the next step by submitting an online application. You will need to include:

Step 4: phone interview
Your application will be assessed and you may be invited to join a phone interview. This is an opportunity for you to gain a deeper understanding of what being a support worker with estara entails.
Step 5: what happens next...
Successful candidates will undergo reference checks. Two professional referees, excluding friends or relatives, will be contacted by phone.
Upon successful completion of all recruitment stages, you’ll be scheduled for our next available introduction session, marking the beginning of your journey with estara.
