Support Workers

HomeCare+ invites applications from people keen to join our team of Support Workers.

HomeCare+ supports clients with a wide range of special needs, not only those who have a spinal cord injury.

As a Support Worker, you will visit clients in their own homes and support them to meet their daily living needs; activities that most people take for granted. This may include support with hygiene care (such as showering, bathing, toileting and dressing), support with mobility needs, shopping, cleaning, cooking, and even support to participate in recreational activities of the client’s choice in the community.

Although employment is on a casual basis, the work is often secure and ongoing, as you fulfil a very important role in your clients’ lives, providing a valuable and professional service.

Employment is offered following the receipt of a Child Related Employment Screening through DCSI, a current Provide First Aid Certificate, positive referee checks and the successful completion of HomeCare+ requirements of Pre-Employment Training.

What if my job search returns no vacancies? Can I email my resume anyway?

Yes. We encourage people to send in their resumes. Your application will be acknowledged and will remain on file.

Do you keep my details on file?

Yes. We keep resumes for a period of three (3) months and will contact you should a suitable position become available. Your application will remain on file in confidence.

Do I need a current Apply First Aid Certificate?

Yes. It is a requirement of employment with HomeCare+ that all Support Workers have a current Apply First Aid Certificate. A list of approved First Aid providers is available here.

Do I need a current DCSI Child Related Employment Screening?

Yes. It is a requirement of employment with HomeCare+ that all Support Workers have a current DCSI Child Related Employment Screening.

Do I need a Certificate III qualification to work with HomeCare+?

A Certificate III in Disability is desirable to work within this industry.

Why is the HomeCare+ Support Worker position casual?

Due to the nature of the work and clients, there are no permanent or regular positions available. Casual Support Workers are employed from one (1) hour per fortnight up to a maximum of seventy six (76) hours per fortnight.
